The American Fulbright Commission Delegation Visits Mansoura University

In the framework of supporting cultural and academic cooperation and developing the educational process performance, Mansoura University welcomed the Fulbright Commission delegation which included Prof. Elizabeth Khalifa the executive director of the Fulbright and Nevien Gad Almwla the Egyptian Programs manager in the Fulbright.
Prof. Al-Sayed Abd Al-Khalek, the President of Mansoura University, asserted that Mansoura University is always seeking providing opportunities of cooperation, scientific exchange in various fields, sharing educational experiences, and providing scholarships for the largest number of staff members. This is to develop the educational process and making a quantum leap to benefit the university in particular and higher education in Egypt in general. The president of the university expressed about his desire to bring the staff members from the American universities to teach specified curricula in some programs at the university. On her side, Prof. Elizabeth Khalifa expressed her thanks and appreciation to Mansoura university hospitality and declared that the Fulbright Commission aims at encouraging peace all around the world and developing scientific research, higher and specific education and the cultural relations between Egypt and the United States as the commission is looking forward to extend from Cairo to cover all the governorates.
The delegation’ visit aimed at providing different scholarships and programs as the Egyptian Programs manager referred to that the programs are divided into two main types; the first one for staff members with Ph.D. degrees and includes teaching and research for a period ranges from 3 to 9 months to work on post doctoral research and also specific programs for teaching Arabic language in the American universities. The second type includes grants for Ph.D. degrees for post graduate students and junior staff members for a period ranges from 3 to 4 years, master degrees for a period of two years, and other programs for collecting scientific data for a period ranges from 6 to 9 month. In addition, specific programs for hosting staff members from USA for specific curricula and specific education programs of drawing, musical arts, and students exchange programs.
Mansoura University has expressed its willingness to host introductory lectures for these programs in coordination with the commission and following them with special workshops for filling in the forms for grants on the commission website http://www.fulbright-egypt.org and other workshops about how research papers are published in scientific journals.
