Mansoura University's Scholars were named the Highest Ranked among the Best 2% of The World Scholars
PLOS Biology magazine announced a study by a number of professors from one of the prestigious American Universities, Stanford University which included a list of the best 2% scholars among the world and their number was approximately 160,000 Scholars from 149 countries in 22 major scientific fields and 176 minor fields.
The study included two reports: one of them classified the scholars according to impact factor of publication since 1834 till now, and the second one named the best scholars in the world in different fields according to the impact factor of publication during the year 2019.
The first report named 15 of Mansoura University's scholars according to the following fields: (5) in Sciences (4) in medicine, (3) in Pharmacy, (2) in Engineering and (1) in Veterinary Medicine. The report showed that there were (5) Mansoura University's scholars who were among the best 500 scholars in their specialization, two of them were among the best 100 scholars in their minor specialization: prof. Mahmoud Yaseen (mathematics specialization) and prof. Hamdy Nabieh Egeizah (Physics specialization).
The second report showed a list of the best scholars in the world in different fields according to the impact factor of publication during the year 2019. The list included (24) Mansoura University's Scholars: (7) in Engineering and Mathematics, (6) in Medicine and Dentistry, (5) in Chemistry, (3) in Physics, (3) in Agriculture. The report showed that (9) of Mansoura University's Scholars were among the best 500 scholars in their specialization and three of them were among the best 100 scholars in their specializations who were: prof. Ahmed Abdel-Khaleq, professor of Diagnostic Radiology at the faculty of Medicine was ranked the fifth among the world in Radiology and Medical Imaging, prof. Hamdy Egeizah, professor of Mathematics at the faculty of Sciences was ranked 66 among the world in Mathematical physics, and prof. Loai Arafat, professor of Fruit and Vegetable at the faculty of Agriculture was ranked 92 among the world in orchards specialization.
The significance of this study is its dependence on Scopus and its analysis by using standardized measurements in order to reach accurate and documented results including citations, h-index, hm-index and other criteria.
