Prof. El-Sayed Abdel-Khalek is selected as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mansoura National University

The Board of Trustees of Mansoura National University met on November 5, 2023, the first meeting of the Council at the headquarters of private universities, in the presence of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University. The meeting was chaired by the oldest member, Prof. Hamdi Al-Mikati.
The procedural session began to select the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and his deputy, and Prof. El-Sayed Abdel Khalek, the former Minister of Higher Education, was nominated for the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees unanimously and by acclamation. Prof. Kamal Sharubim, the former Governor of Dakahlia, was nominated and chosen for the position of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Prof. Ayman Ashour, discussed during the meeting the role of private universities in achieving the state’s strategic plan in the field of higher education by providing a distinguished level of education, whether at the academic or applied level, in a way that contributes to making higher education available for the increasing number of students, 12 national universities emanating from public universities were established, and the Ministry aims to increase the total number of national universities to 27 university located in various parts of Egypt. National universities are also considered smart, 4th generation universities that aims to the development of the educational system in Egypt, as they offer academic programs with a modern structure that keeps pace with the requirements of the local, regional and international labor market, in addition to preparing an appropriate structure for scientific research that contributes to facing the challenges of development plans in Egypt.
Prof. Ayman Ashour praised the performance of the national universities emanating from public universities. They were provided with laboratories that were equipped with the latest technological means, which rely on the latest global systems. The goal is to increase the faculty members and the administrative staff to provide the best educational service to students.
Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater congratulated the Board of Trustees of Mansoura National University. He said that the Council chose valuable leaders with great academic stature who will contribute to the advancement of Mansoura National University, wishing them success. He added that the state has placed the education file at the top of its priorities, in light of the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to diversify educational sources in Egypt, pointing out that Mansoura University will remain a major supporter of Mansoura National University with human expertise and scientific and research centers to achieve integration between them and achieve quality educational service, and that the National University is currently taking steady steps in various fields, to provide the best educational service to students.
