The Stroke Center at Mansoura University obtains accreditation from the World Stroke Organization (WSO)

The Stroke Center in the Department of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University, has received accreditation from the World Stroke Organization (WSO). It was established two years ago in the internal medicine building of Mansoura University Hospital and entered the medical service with a capacity of 8 beds, providing medical service at the highest level for stroke patients, it is fully equipped with the highest level of all modern medical devices, ventilators, injection devices, interventional catheters, and a four-dimensional ultrasound device that has recently entered service to contribute to evaluating patients’ cases, speeding up diagnosis, and making the necessary medical decisions.
Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater said that this international accreditation is the culmination of continuous efforts made by the Faculty of Medicine and university hospitals, and the result of successful and distinguished teamwork by the multidisciplinary medical team specialized in providing medical service to stroke patients from the departments: (neurology, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, diagnostic radiology, heart and blood vessels, critical care medicine, pulmonology, physical therapy and rehabilitation, psychiatry, speech-language pathology) As well as the administrative work team, it is also considered an international certificate for the quality and excellence of the medical service provided to stroke patients at Mansoura University Hospitals in accordance with the highest international standards, in a new milestone added to the record of achievements of Mansoura University, the pioneer of medicine in Egypt.
He added that this accreditation will contribute strongly to enhancing patients’ confidence in the medical service provided, stressing the university’s keenness to provide all the necessary capabilities to ensure the continued development of the university’s medical system.
