Mansoura University 2024 .. Outstanding success and unprecedented progress in international rankings

Mansoura University continued its unprecedented progress in international rankings during 2024, which was reflected in its presence in advanced positions in all international rankings of the best universities in the world according to its various criteria in terms of research and social performance, global citations, quality of research and academic reputation, and the level of its graduates in the international employment index, in addition to its ability to achieve strong competition with major international universities and even outperform many of them with the strength of its programs, professors, quality of its curricula, efficiency of the educational process, and the distinction of applied scientific research and its link to solving societal problems, and it occupied advanced positions in the lead at the level of Egyptian and African universities in many rankings.

Prof. Cherif Khater reviewed a report on Mansoura University's excellence in the international rankings file; It stated that Mansoura University topped the list of 50 Egyptian universities in the Webometrics ranking for the year 2024, and the university achieved a number of advanced positions among Egyptian universities in the Scimago ranking for the year 2024, and Mansoura University was ranked among the top 500 universities in the world for the year 2024 in the QS ranking in the specializations (Medicine - Chemistry - Agriculture - Pharmacy - Life Sciences - Biological Sciences - Electronic Engineering), and Mansoura University was ranked among the top 4.2% globally and third locally in the CWUR ranking. The report also included; Mansoura University is ranked among the top 1,000 universities worldwide in the Round University ranking, where Mansoura University ranked 771st  internationally and 4th  locally. Mansoura University has achieved huge leaps in the British QS ranking 2025.

Mansoura University also topped public universities and won 1st  place in the British Times Higher Education Impact 2024 ranking, and advanced in the US News 2024 ranking, where it came in 335th  place globally, advancing 112 international positions from last year's ranking 2023.

Mansoura University has also advanced a position in its ranking among African universities from last year, where it ranked 7th  on the African level and 3rd  on the local level. The report indicated that Mansoura University was among the top 1000 universities worldwide in the Round University ranking, as Mansoura University ranked 771st  internationally and 4th  locally, and advanced in the Dutch Leiden University ranking for 2024, where it ranked 537th  among the best universities in the world, advancing 35 places from last year's ranking.

Mansoura University also topped the "Webometrics" ranking for reference citations at the level of Egyptian universities, while maintaining 2nd  place locally in the "Shanghai" global ranking for 2024.

61 scientists from Mansoura University were announced in the "Stanford" list of the top 0.2% of the world's most influential reference scientists for the year 2023.

Mansoura University topped public universities in the Times World University Rankings 2025, and was among the top 500 global universities in 11 academic disciplines for 2024 in the Shanghai Ranking of Academic Disciplines. Mansoura University ranked 67th  globally and 2nd  locally in the Times Higher Education Multidisciplinary Sciences Ranking 2024.

Mansoura University ranked 4th  locally and 19th  in the Arab world in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2024.

Mansoura University achieved 3rd  place among Egyptian universities and seventh among Arab universities in the Arab University Rankings 2024, and ranked 2nd  locally in the “Teaching and Learning” and “Scientific Research” indicators in the same ranking.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research honored Mansoura University for its progress in the Arab ranking of universities, and he also honored the university for its progress of 200 centers in the English QS ranking for university specializations for the year 2025.

Mansoura University was also honored for obtaining four stars in the QS Stars evaluation.

The report explained that the university's achievement of qualitative milestones in global rankings was thanks to a package of strategic measures that included enhancing scientific research, supporting researchers, developing research infrastructure, and international cooperation. These efforts contributed to increasing high-quality research production and improving the university's global position.

The report indicated that the university was able to achieve remarkable progress in the field of scientific research, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030, through a package of initiatives aimed at enhancing innovation and creativity, and contributing to solving the challenges facing society. These efforts have proven their effectiveness through implementing ambitious research plans, developing research infrastructure, and cooperating with international research institutions, which led to a noticeable improvement in the university's global rankings.

The report revealed that the university's plan also included a package to encourage researchers of all academic degrees to publish in prestigious international journals, set global standards for awards, and scrutinize the selection of university candidates for international and national awards, in addition to openness to international research centers, benefiting from international experiences, and cooperating with major international universities within the framework of the higher education and scientific research system in Egypt.

The report stressed the rules followed by permanent scientific promotion committees and the special appreciation that scientific research published internationally receives, and making international scientific research and all sources of information available to researchers through the Internet and cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, which is currently being handled by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in addition to the projects to develop the humanities, social, natural and mathematical sciences launched by the university accompanied by large incentives and subject to accurate standards.
