Mansoura University tops the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025

The university achieves:
First place among Egyptian universities in the specializations of "Business and Economics" and "Social Sciences".
Second place in the specializations of "Engineering", "Medical and Health Sciences" and "Physical Sciences".
Third place in "Computer Sciences" and "Life Sciences”.
Prof. Cherif Khater:
- I congratulate all Mansoura University staff on this achievement and advanced levels in various international rankings, which is a culmination of the efforts made in various files, most notably scientific research.
- The Times Ranking of academic disciplines depends on the quality of the process, the research environment, the quality of scientific research and the number of citations, the international dimension, and the return of the university's projects from applied research.
Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, announced on January 22, 2025, that the university topped the British Times ranking THE for academic disciplines for the year 2025, at the level of Egyptian universities, as the university won 1st place at the level of Egyptian universities in the field of business and economics (301-400 globally), advancing 200 places compared to 2024, and it also topped the field of social sciences among Egyptian universities (501-600 globally) after advancing to 1st place. In the field of engineering, the university maintained its 2nd place among Egyptian universities (501-600 globally), while the field of medical and health sciences witnessed progress to reach 2nd place (501-600 globally), while the field of physical sciences achieved 2nd place locally (401-500 globally) with an advance of 100 international positions from the previous year. In addition, the field of computer science came in 3rd place locally (401-500 globally), and the field of life sciences also came in 3rd place (501-600 globally).
Prof. Cherif Khater pointed out that the British Times ranking of academic specializations is based on several main axes, including the quality of the educational process in these specializations at a rate of 29.5% of the classification score, the research environment, which represents 29%, the quality of scientific research and the number of citations, which represents 30%, in addition to the international dimension, which represents 7.5%, and the return of university projects from applied research, which in turn represents 4% of the classification score.
Prof. Cherif Khater congratulated all Mansoura University staff, its scientists and researchers on all university affiliates for achieving this accomplishment, stressing the university's keenness to implement the sustainable development goals related to Egypt's Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to enhance international publishing and develop scientific research policies. He also pointed out that this achievement and advanced levels in various international rankings are the culmination of the efforts made to adhere to international standards in various academic and educational files, most notably scientific research and international publishing.
The university president added that the university's achievement of qualitative leaps in international rankings was thanks to a package of strategic measures that included enhancing scientific research, supporting researchers, developing research infrastructure, and international cooperation. These efforts contributed to increasing high-quality research production and improving the university's global position, praising the efforts made by the university's graduate studies and research sector under the chairmanship of Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, which would enhance the university's leading position in the field of education and scientific research at the local, regional and global levels.
