Mansoura University Nephrology and Urology Center Obtains Accreditation from the International Society of Nephrology as a Regional Training Center in the Middle East and North Africa

Prof. Cherif Khater: The Nephrology and Urology Center is a global and pioneering model in Egypt, and it was the first building block within Mansoura University to become the capital of medicine in Egypt.
Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, announced the accreditation of Mansoura University Nephrology and Urology Center by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) as a regional training center in the Middle East and North Africa region affiliated with it in the field of kidney diseases, transplantation and dialysis.
The President of the University congratulated Prof. Mohamed Ghoneim, the founder of the center and one of the pioneers of kidney transplantation in Egypt and the world, who is considered one of the distinguished scientists that Mansoura University is rich in. He played a pioneering role in establishing the center until it became one of the largest leading global centers in the field of kidney transplantation and surgeries, and a pioneering model in Egypt for specialized medical centers that provide quality medical services in various specialties. He was also the first building block within Mansoura University since its establishment in 1983 as the first specialized center in Egyptian universities to become the capital of medicine in Egypt, which now includes 13 hospitals and specialized medical centers.
The President of the University also congratulated the center's management, headed by Prof. Basem Salah, for their distinguished role in managing the work system within the center, which resulted in the center's leadership locally, regionally and globally in providing distinguished quality health services that meet the highest quality standards in the world. He added that the center is the largest in the Middle East and Africa in treating kidney diseases, urology, and kidney transplantation, explaining the vital role of the center in serving the people of the Delta, which is considered a beacon for kidney and urology surgery globally, as hundreds of foreign doctors from different countries visit it annually to benefit from the expertise of the center's staff, as the center provides unparalleled educational services in Europe and the United States of America. In addition, many professors working at the center give lectures at various conferences related to kidney and urology surgery, as foreign doctors are keen to attend these conferences to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the kidney center's doctors. He stressed that this success is a source of pride for the medical sector and all university members, extending his greetings and appreciation to the administration of university hospitals headed by Prof. Ashraf Shoma, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Al-Shaarawy Kamal, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and to all faculty members and employees, for their efforts in managing the work in the university hospitals sector and specialized medical centers at the university.
