Mansoura University Ranked Among Top 100 Arab Universities in the 2026 Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings and Leads Egyptian Universities in Internationalization

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, announced that the university has achieved a new Arab milestone, adding to its record of academic excellence. It has been ranked among the top 100 Arab universities in the 2026 Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings, securing 59th place regionally and 4th place nationally among Egyptian universities. This achievement reflects its leading position in the region's higher education landscape. He added that this ranking highlights its international excellence, as it achieved first place nationally in the "Internationalization" criterion. This criterion is considered one of the most important indicators of university excellence globally, as it measures the levels of international diversity among faculty and students, in addition to the strength of partnerships and joint scientific research with international institutions. He pointed out that this progress reflects the success of the university's strategic vision in enhancing the quality of education and scientific research, and fostering academic openness to the world. This contributes to supporting innovation, developing knowledge transfer processes, and achieving high-impact research outputs that address contemporary scientific and developmental challenges. He added that this achievement aligns with the Egyptian state's efforts to enhance the competitiveness of universities and strengthen their regional and international presence.
Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, said that Mansoura University's leading position in the international dimension reflects the significant efforts the university has made in recent years to support the scientific research system, develop researchers' capabilities, increase the volume of internationally published research, and establish research partnerships and joint projects with prestigious institutions worldwide. He affirmed that the university is committed to implementing its plans to promote high-impact scientific publications and expand its international research networks.
It is worth noting that the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2026 included 268 Arab universities, whose performance was evaluated according to five main criteria: teaching and learning environment, research (volume, income, and reputation), research impact (citations), industry and knowledge transfer, and international outlook. This comprehensive methodology reflects the quality of institutional performance and the level of research and teaching excellence.
Mansoura University affirms its continued commitment to its strategy aimed at strengthening its position among Arab and international universities by supporting academic internationalization, developing its research infrastructure, and enhancing the efficiency of its educational and research performance.
