Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, announced the establishment and operation of the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Valley.” This valley will serve as an institutional framework uniting the university’s efforts in the fields of innovation, technology transfer and commercialization, and entrepreneurship. It will connect scientific research outputs with the needs of industry and the labor market, thus supporting the Egyptian state’s move towards a knowledge economy and maximizing the return on scientific research.

Prof. Cherif Khater emphasized that the establishment of the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Valley” aligns with the directives of the Egyptian state and the policies of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to enhance the role of universities in supporting development and the national economy, and to transform the results of scientific research and innovations into applications, products, and solutions that can be utilized at both the economic and societal levels. He stated that Mansoura University possesses a substantial scientific, research, and human capital, and that the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Valley" aims to utilize these capabilities more effectively and create practical pathways for leveraging university knowledge and innovations in applied fields.

Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, explained that the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Valley" will work to organize and integrate research and innovation efforts within the university through a clear path that begins with identifying promising research outputs, assessing their applicability, and progressing to their development, technology transfer, commercialization, and application in various fields.

The valley is based on integrating the capabilities, expertise, and existing systems within the university into a single institutional framework. This contributes to linking research and development phases with application and investment, and opens channels for cooperation between researchers and productive sectors. The work streams include: identifying and evaluating applicable research outputs, supporting intellectual property protection, developing prototypes, connecting researchers with industry needs, supporting innovative projects and startups, and building partnerships with industrial and investment institutions and innovation support bodies.

Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Khaleq, the University President's Advisor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, explained that the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Valley" aims to support innovative projects and startups, and to create practical pathways for those with ideas and projects to benefit from the university's available resources and expertise. This will help develop promising ideas, transform them into viable projects, and enhance opportunities for economic benefit from university innovations.

The establishment and operation of this valley is part of Mansoura University's efforts to develop the scientific research and innovation system, link its outputs to application pathways, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship, thereby maximizing the utilization of the university's scientific and research capabilities.
