Mansoura University adopts the innovations of Dakahlia sons to serve deaf and dumb
Prof/ Mohamed Kenawy - President of Mansoura University, received the student/ Omar Abdel-Salam at Ahmed Hassan El-Zayyat Secondary School, who invented speech glasses for the deaf and dumb.
The inovation comes due to the absence of any appropriate means of communication for deaf and dumb.
The student reviewed the first model of the innovation which is electronic glasses for the deaf to communicate easily, where the signals are translated into a voice coming out of the earphone present in the glasses.
On the other hand, the glasses translate the words of people into signs that appear on a small glass slide in front of the eyes of the deaf by imaginative picture, which enables them to see the signs clearly to recognize the conversation of the others in a signal language.
prof/ Kenawy stressed that the university is about to assign a committee of concerned disciplines from the faculties of science, engineering, computers and sign language specialists to help the student to develop this distinctive invention in order to be a global product.
