Mansoura University hosts archeologist Dr. Melanie Petkin
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Suelem, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, received on Monday 15 October 2018 Archaeologist Dr. Melanie Petkin, researcher in the study of the ancient Egyptian coffins collection at Fitzwilliam University, University of Cambridge. The meeting included aspects of joint cooperation that could be carried out in the future with the Department of Ancient Egyptian Antiquities in the Faculty of Arts to benefit from modern techniques and experiences in the field of archaeological research and museum management, which contributes to raising the competence of faculty members and researchers in the department , as part of Mansoura University's keenness on developing scientific research and benefit from international experiences from world universities.The meeting was attended by Dr. Maha Al-Sejini, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research in the faculty of Arts , Dr. Nehal Kamal, Head of Ancient Egyptian Antiquities Department. Dr. Ayman Wehbe. The researcher visited the Faculty of Arts, Professor Reda ALasaied Ahmed ,Dean of the faculty ,welcomed her ,The researcher presented a group of ancient Egyptian coffins at the Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge, the opening of the new online project to facilitate the study of the coffins in the museum, and the opportunity for researchers in the field of archeology. she presented a Lecture on remembering death,it is the art of Egyptian paintings in the era of the first transition.
