Opening of the first international conference of stem cells at Mansoura University

The first international conference on stem cells at Mansoura University was inaugurated , entitled "Future Applications" under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, from 17 to 19 December 2018 at Mansoura University. This is the fourth conference of stem cell research and the 18th Egyptian-French meeting in the field of immunology and tissue compatibility.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Ashraf Abdel Baset, President of Mansoura University, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Suelem, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Farha El-Shennawy, Professor of Clinical Immunology, Mansoura University, Dr. Saeid Abdel-Hady, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Reem Abdel-Rahman, Scientific Attache at the French Embassy in Cairo. The conference will be lectured by a number of Egyptian and foreign experts in the field of stem cells.
Prof. Ashraf Abdel Basset stressed the prestigious position occupied by Mansoura University in general and the Faculty of Medicine in particular and the University's efforts to develop research work in the field of stem cells through financial support for research related to it and providing means of communication with international research institutions, especially from France.
Prof. Dr. Suwailim pointed out the fruitful cooperation between the various scientific institutions and the cooperation with the French side in the field of umbilical stem cells in order to exchange experiences for the development of stem cells.
Dr. Abdel-Hady said that the conference is unique because it is witnessing cooperation between Egyptian and French researchers for the development of stem cells, as well as the presence of a number of stem cell researchers from the medical, scientific, engineering, nursing, pharmacy and medicine colleges, Which enriches research work and makes it integrated into the development of stem cells.
Dr. Farha Al-Shennawy pointed out that this is the first conference which witnessed the gathering of 6 scientific colleges concerned with the field of stem cells in order to integrate efforts in this field and to meet them for the common good.
Dr. Reem Abdul rahman praised the invitation of Mansoura University to attend this conference, which is witnessing cooperation between the Egyptian and French medical research institutions in order to exchange experiences to develop research and medical work in the field of stem cells.
Professor Dominique Sharon, Professor of Immunology at the University of Paris Diderot, France, expressed his pleasure to be back at Mansoura University in collaboration with the Stem Cell Bank and to use modern technologies in the development of stem cells for the treatment of a number of chronic diseases that are difficult to cure by traditional methods.
