Mansoura University Dedicates Egypt's White Army an Artwork that Embodies Appreciation and Gratitude
Prof. Ashraf Abdel-Basset, the president of Mansoura University inaugurated a sculptural artwork which embodies appreciation and gratitude. It is dedicated from Mansoura University to Egypt's White Army due to their exceptional efforts to relief the human pain. In front of the artwork was written '' for those who decided to become the hand that relieves the pain , to all the medical staff, to those who stood alone to light the way, from us all peace and appreciation ''.
The president was accompanied by prof. Mohamed Attia ElBayoumy, the vice-president of the university for education and students' affairs, prof. Omar Ghoniem , the dean of the faculty of fine arts and a number of elite professors at the Faculty of Fine Arts from the following universities: (Cairo-Alexandria- Minia).
Prof. Ashraf Abdel-Basset confirmed that the University performed this artwork in an appreciation for the role of medical staff and the White Army to honor their human role in relieving the suffering of the patients which is newly appeared by the beginning of Covid 19 widespread. They stayed in the battle armed by courageousness, human responsibility and presented the finest example of sacrifice, and caring for patients in this hard time.
The university adopted performing one of the graduation projects by students at the Faculty of Fine Arts, in an appreciation for the role of the medical staff and within the framework of the university to take care of talents, encourage and develop the spirit of artistic creativity among students.
Prof. Omar Ghoniem, the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts noted that this artwork is a sculptural one and a graduation project by student/Hamdy Mohamed Noor in Sculpture Department, Civil Sculpture Section. The artwork embodies appreciation and gratitude for all medical staff as well as the human feelings of a group of children. He expressed them with feelings of fear, despair, reassurance, and hope.
The artwork was performed inside the university's campus and consists of architectural design of the surrounding area and a design for walkway and green areas by Dr. Ibrahim Gamal, assistant lecturer at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts.
