A Celebration by Persons with Disabilities Services Center at Mansoura University to Coincide with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Today on Thursday 3rd December 2020, Persons with Disabilities Services Center at Mansoura University organized a celebration to coincide with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, entitled '' a mergeable and sustainable university'' ( together, we challenge the world).
The attendees were: prof. Ashraf Abdel-Basset, the president of Mansoura University, Prof. Mohamed Attia Elbayoumy, the vice-president of Mansoura University for Education and Students' Affairs, prof. Tamer Saleh, the head of the department of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law. The organizers were: the associate professor, Samah Ramadan Khamees, the manager of the center and the associate professor, Eman Ahmed Abou ElFadl, the deputy manager of the center with a distinguished participation of the General Administration for Students Welfare at the University in the artistic and music fields and the participation of a great number of student at different faculties in order to achieve the principle of the community and university integration.
The Events of the celebration included a number of artistic activities (Drawing – plastic art – printing), talents (songs-music), sports activity (volleyball – arm wrestling), a scientific activity (scientific magazines) and a cultural competition. Besides, the events included a workshop entitled '' the rights of persons with disability in the society).
Prof.Ashraf Abdel-Basset confirmed that any person has a talent and those talents are the unique points for persons with disabilities. He added that the university takes care of them very well and exerts efforts by its administrations and by the new center to offer all types of support and care in different areas and works on developing their skills and merging them to the society in an appreciation of their efforts and overcoming and challenging all types of disability.
Prof.Mohamed Attia noted that the rights of those persons with disabilities are reserved by all laws and religions. Further, the university is working on providing all ways of support and continuing communication to solve any problem whether it is an educational problem or psychological problem or a family one through the psychological support and the family consultation by a number of specialists at the Persons with Disability Services Center as well the specialists at the Administration of Students Welfare at the University. The associate professor, Samah Ramadan noted that the center has a number of specialists and offers all services for persons with disabilities for any type of disability. She added that the center offers all technological services to help students in educational process, research, training, developing behavior skills, social care and the psychological support.
