The Most Important Decisions of Mansoura University's Council (December 2020)
Today on Tuesday 22nd December, Mansoura University's Council (Session 571) was held under the leadership of Prof. Ashraf Abdel-Basset, the President of Mansoura University. The Council was started by honoring Prof. Amina Shalaby, the former Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels for her retirement and her exerted efforts to develop the faculty during her appointment as the dean of the faculty.
Prof. Mahmoud ElMeligy, the Vice-President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, presented the preventive procedures which should be followed to avoid COVID-19. Further, he stressed on the importance of taking all preventive procedures inside the faculties, and during the first semester's examination at the faculties as well as for the employees at different sectors and administrations.
Prof. Mohamed Attia, the Vice-President of the University for Education and Students' Affairs presented a report about the educational process at the university's faculties. Besides, he praised the efforts of the teaching staff regarding the electronic platform of the university. There were 174,000 uploaded subjects on the electronic platform and 7.6 million watches by the students. The Council accepted holding examinations as a second chance for the students who have health excuses accepted by the faculty's Council because of COVID-19 Pandemic. Moreover, these special examinations will be held by the end of the first semester examinations (after two weeks of holding the regular ones). The same processes should be applied to the practical examination. The Council decided to exempt the students with disabilities such as (Mobility impairment - the blind students - the deaf and dumb students of all groups- students of integration) from the military education service. Furthermore, the Council exempted the female student at the Faculty of Education from paying the cost of liver transplant at the University Center for Gastrointestinal Surgery.
Prof. Ashraf Tarek Hafiz, the Vice-President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research presented the organizational matters of the sector. Those matters include signing an agreement between the University represented by the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, to complete the framework of the research project of STDF and GERE. Besides, the establishment of the Research Services Office at the Faculty of Education, and the establishment of the Center for Architecture Heritage and Sustainability Studies at the faculty of Fine Arts. The Council agreed on granting and appointing 43 teaching staff as follows: 8 professors and 14 associate professors were granted the mentioned scientific rank. Besides, the council appointed 13 university assistant lecturers as lecturers and appointed 8 fellows.
