The agreement was signed by Prof. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Mansoura University, and Mr. Nasser Shaaban, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in Dakahlia.
In the presence of Prof. Nisreen Omar, a member of the Parliament, and Mr. Ayman Al-Baramuny, Director General of Technical Education in the Directorate, this came within the university’s provision of its educational and training expertise to technical school students and the Directorate of Education’s keenness to provide distinguished educational service in the technical fields and to link technical education to the actual needs of the labor market in order to qualify students, providing them with the skills, information, and behaviors that must be available to contribute to supplying the labor market with a graduate who possesses scientific and professional specifications supported by practical application in the university’s laboratories, represented by the laboratories of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels within advanced study programs that have the necessary flexibility to keep pace with developments that arise in the labor market.
Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater said that this protocol is the first at the level of Egyptian universities, which will contribute to motivating students to learn more about tourism and hotels, creating a passion in them later to work in this sector, and raising the academic and training level of students, which contributes to obtaining distinguished job opportunities. This is in line with the broader goal of the structural reform program to develop the tourism sector, which is to employ at least one of every Egyptian family in the tourism sector and related activities.
The Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Mansoura University indicated that the protocol aims to enhance joint cooperation between both parties through a training program and familiarity with hotel work among hotel school students in the governorate, with the aim of creating Egyptian generations aware of the importance of the vital role of the tourism and hotel sector and realizing its great role in the renaissance of the Egyptian economy.
Mr. Nasser Shaaban indicated that this protocol comes within Directorate of Education’s keenness to increase community awareness of the importance of the tourism and hotels sector, especially among future generations, considering its interest in raising the efficiency of the students and improving the level of service provided to increase the competitiveness of the hotel product and linking educational curricula to the needs of the labor market. This is included in the institutional reform axis of the structural reform program to develop the tourism sector.
