Mansoura University and Dakahlia Governorate: A strategic partnership to enhance local development and services

Mansoura University President and the Governor of Dakahlia discussed integration and joint cooperation in many files to develop Dakahlia during Mansoura University Council Session No. 613 held on July 29,2024, headed by Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater - President of Mansoura University, and in the presence of Major General Tarek Marzouk - Governor of Dakahlia, where Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the participation of Major General Tarek Marzouk for the first time in the Mansoura University Council after his appointment as Governor of Dakahlia, and he was gifted the Mansoura University shield, stressing that there is twinning and joint cooperation between Mansoura University and the governorate in many files that serve citizens, most notably health, and the development of squares and streets.
The President of Mansoura University pointed out that the university provides full moral, logistical and technological support to Dakahlia Governorate, as well as providing the expertise of faculty members, research and consultation centers to improve the level of service provided to citizens, believing in the importance of community participation, as a basic partner with the governorate to achieve the aspirations of the citizen and change for the better, stressing the university's endeavor to integrate and cooperate with the executive bodies in the governorate to provide the necessary proposals and consultations to achieve the aspirations of the political leadership in achieving the best for the citizen within Dakahlia Governorate.
The President of the University also congratulated Major General Hossam Abdel Aziz on assuming the position of Director of Dakahlia Security, stressing that the integration of all executive bodies in the governorate side by side leads to a positive impact on serving the citizen within the governorate.
Major General Tarek Marzouk added that Mansoura University is a key partner with the governorate in providing all services to citizens, most notably healthcare for patients, in addition to its participation in developing many service sectors. He also offered his full support for Mansoura University in order to continue carrying out its scientific, research and medical mission to serve the people of the governorate and neighboring governorates in all the local services they need, pointing out that Dakahlia Governorate is proud of Mansoura University as a long-standing source of expertise whose professors and scholars contribute with the executive body in implementing development and service projects.
The governor also expressed his pride in being among a group of leaders and scientific figures at Mansoura University, and in his membership in the esteemed Mansoura University Council. He also relied on Mansoura University as the capital of medicine and a beacon of science in Egypt, stressing cooperation with the members of the university council to achieve the best for the citizen in Dakahlia Governorate in all files. He also praised the citizens of Dakahlia and their ambition for a better future. He added that the university's participation with the governorate in all fields aims primarily to provide distinguished services to citizens. He added that he welcomes all ideas and suggestions from university leaders and faculty members to change the general appearance of Mansoura City and facilitate services for citizens, and doing the best for Mansoura City and Dakahlia Governorate in a manner befitting its position throughout history. He also stressed that Dakahlia Governorate is honored to have Dr. Ahmed El-Adl as Deputy Governor at the head of the executive body. He is one of Mansoura University’s staff members and one of the young and promising talents, which reflects the state's vision for the integration of the governorate as an executive body and the university as a scientific, research and advisory body.
During the meeting, it was agreed to form a specialized committee headed by Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service Affairs, and the membership of Prof. Sherif Badawi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Sherif Sheta, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, to create engineering and architectural designs for the entrances to the city of Gamasa at a high level of aesthetic and civilized design.
