During a friendly visit Prof. Ahmed Amin Hamza, former President of Mansoura University, presented his autobiography entitled "Illumination on the Path of Knowledge" to Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, on December 30, 2024, during a friendly visit to the headquarters of Mansoura University Administration.
Prof. Cherif Khater extended his greetings and appreciation to Prof. Ahmed Amin Hamza, praising his efforts during his tenure as President of the University in 1994 for 7 years, in developing university and medical facilities, educational and health services, as well as his efforts in managing the strategic plan to develop the university in all its components. He added that Prof. Ahmed Amin Hamza is a great scientist and a role model in science, work, giving and patriotism, as Mansoura University witnessed its golden age during his reign and became the medical capital of Egypt, due to his special interest in university hospitals and medical centers, and the establishment of the Information Technology Center, which created technology programs to manage student and graduate affairs, faculty affairs, and patient affairs, and established networks to link all university departments electronically and automate Mansoura University.
Prof. Ahmed Amin Hamza extended his greetings and appreciation to Prof. Cherif Khater for his efforts in developing Mansoura University, and maintaining the university's leadership, distinction and high position among local, regional and international universities.
The book deals with multiple stations in the life of Prof. Amin Hamza, over many years he spent in the service of science and work tirelessly, and in serving the issues of education and scientific research, while it is an important source of inspiration and emulation of a unique model for different generations.
It is worth noting that Prof. Ahmed Amin Hamza assumed the presidency of the British University in Cairo, and currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the New Mansoura University, a member of the Education and Scientific Research Committee of the Academy of Scientific Research, and a member of the Mansoura University Council. He is also the first in the position of Vice President of Mansoura University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
He has also received many international and local awards, most notably the Nile Award, the largest and most important Egyptian scientific medal. He is one of the best scientists in Egypt and the world in the physics of light and fiber optics and the founder of a school in his specialty. He has supervised more than 57 masters and doctoral theses, and has more than 165 scientific research papers published in the most important prestigious international scientific journals and magazines. He has a scientific school that is pointed out, and contributed to the establishment of the Light Unit at the Faculty of Science, Mansoura University. He and his research team have invented new methods, and he has a method named after him that has been referred to in some published research by foreign scientists "Hamza's method", and these methods are applied in laboratories to study fibers in the fields of textiles.
