Mansoura University President Participates in the Saudi Embassy's Celebration of the World Arabic Language Day

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, participated in the celebration of the Saudi Embassy in Egypt at its headquarters on January,2,2025, on the World Arabic Language Day, in the presence of the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Saleh bin Eid Al-Hussaini, a number of university presidents, Egyptian media professionals, and members of the embassy.

Prof. Cherif Khater expressed his great pleasure to participate in this celebration, stressing that the Arabic language is the essence of our identity, the pillar of our civilization, and the key to our future, as it is the language of diversity and beauty that unites us as one nation. He discussed the importance of the Arabic language, as it is not just a means of communication, but rather a source into the nation's history and ancient culture.

On the World Arabic Language Day, we celebrate the language of beauty and creativity that united peoples, enriched human civilization, and formed an identity that reflects the authenticity of the past, the vitality of the present, and the hopes of the future.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Al-Hussaini delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he stressed the great care that the Kingdom has given to the Arabic language since its establishment, which has played an effective role in preserving it and enhancing its status, noting that the Kingdom has made efforts to care for the language and its heritage by establishing solid institutional and academic frameworks embodied in a number of centers and bodies concerned with preserving the integrity of the Arabic language, most notably the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language.

The Acting Cultural Attaché in Egypt, Dr. Mansour bin Zaid Al-Khathlan, spoke about the contributions of the Arabic language globally in various areas of life, highlighting its role in transferring knowledge to the peoples of the world as a whole. He also discussed the Kingdom's efforts to promote the use of the Arabic language in international forums, its support for translation programs into the Arabic language to enhance understanding between cultures, in addition to its support in the field of education.

The ceremony included the establishment of an Arabic calligraphy corner, and visual presentations highlighting the aesthetics of the Arabic language.
