Mansoura University President follows up on the implementation of construction projects at the university

Prof. Cherif Khater President of Mansoura University, inspected on January 9, 2025, a number of construction projects at the university, to follow up on the progress of work according to the specified timetables, and to stand on the completion rates of construction and follow up on them on the ground.
He was accompanied during the tour by Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Sherif Badawi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Mr. Saad Abdel Wahab, Secretary General of the University.
The tour included the construction project of Building (G) at the Faculty of Agriculture, the new building of the Faculty of Computers and Information, the central student building at the Faculty of Engineering, the specific medical education building project at the Faculty of Medicine, and the experimental research building at the Faculty of Medicine.
Prof. Cherif Khater pointed out that Mansoura University is keen to implement the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and to follow up on the implementation of the plan set in light of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030, to develop educational services to keep pace with modern developments and growth rates, within the framework of the plan to develop facilities implemented by the university to provide an educational infrastructure at the highest level equipped with the latest equipment and modern educational means, in a way that serves the university's goals in achieving advanced positions in international rankings, and obtaining accreditation for its faculties, stressing that the university will continue to work on completing the implementation of its projects; which aim to raise the level of services and achieve the aspirations of the academic community.
The tour began with an inspection of the first phase of the project to establish Building (G) at the Faculty of Agriculture, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Shata, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, as the building includes a number of central laboratories and student lecture halls, and was built at a height of 7 floors on an area of 1250 square meters to accommodate the increasing numbers of students, and provide them with the necessary training by equipping the central laboratories according to the latest scientific findings in the field of agricultural sciences and research.
Prof. Cherif Khater continued the progress of work underway and the implementation stages of the project, explaining that the completion of the new facilities comes within a strategic plan to provide an integrated educational environment that keeps pace with modern developments.
This was followed by an inspection of the new building project for the Faculty of Computers and Information, in the presence of Prof. Magdy Zakaria Rashad, Dean of the Faculty and the Vice Deans, where work was followed up on the project, which is built on an area of 1000 square meters, to accommodate the number of students accepted into the faculty, and expand the establishment of new specific programs. The building includes educational lecture halls, laboratories and multi-purpose halls.
During the tour, the President of the University stressed the commitment to the timetable and the speed of completion of the building and the acceleration of the pace of work; the financial, administrative and engineering procedures related to the implementation of the project were also reviewed to meet the needs of the faculty by putting the building into service.
Then, he headed to the Faculty of Engineering where he inspected the central student building in the faculty, which consists of a basement and 7 floors with an area of 2150 square meters, which includes a library, lecture halls, and multi-purpose educational halls. He had also reviewed the engineering drawings and specific timetables for the project implementation, as well as the position of the engineering extracts, to meet the needs of the faculty and put the building into service on time.
After that, he headed to the Faculty of Medicine, in the presence of Prof. Ashraf Shoma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, to inspect the project to establish the specific medical educational building "Manchester" at the Faculty of Medicine, which extends over an area of 1400 square meters, and an additional annex with an area of 120 square meters, and includes 8 floors including lecture halls, skills and simulation laboratories, and rooms for small educational groups.
The President of the University stressed the need to quickly complete the final finishing of the project, in order to commit to delivering 4 floors of the building by mid-2025, while committing to providing the necessary safety and protection measures for their entry into service.
The tour concluded with an inspection of the project to establish the experimental research building at the Faculty of Medicine, which consists of a ground floor and 4 repeated upper floors with an area of approximately 440 square meters.
The Experimental Research Center Development Project is an important project for the university's scientific research system, as the center provides its research and training services to a wide range of researchers in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and science inside and outside the university. This makes it one of the bright spots at Mansoura University, which requires developing its infrastructure to accommodate the required awareness to serve the research process in line with the requirements of quality qualification and accreditation.
During the tour, Prof. Cherif Khater met in the field with the various parties concerned with supervising the implementation of each project, from the university's administrative body, the Center for Studies and Consultations at the Faculty of Engineering, and the implementing companies. The financial and engineering procedures were reviewed and their compliance with the timetables was verified, and the rate of progress of the documentary cycle in the various departments and accounting units at the university was verified to achieve the necessary speed to complete all projects
