Mansoura University President receives a delegation from the University of Manchester as part of their visit to the Faculty of Dentistry

University President: We are keen to enhance cooperation with the University of Manchester as a strategic partner of Mansoura University in the medical sector for twenty years.

Prof. Cherif Khater: Mansoura University seeks to expand the horizons of cooperation with universities with a prestigious reputation and advanced ranking in international rankings within the framework of the higher education strategy.

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, received on January 12, 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Dentistry from the University of Manchester in England, during their visit to Mansoura University as part of enhancing means of joint cooperation between the two universities, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi, Vice President of the University for Education and Students, Prof. Yasser Lotfy, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Radwa Omira, Director of the Mansoura-Manchester Dental Program.

The University of Manchester delegation included Prof. Julian Yates, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Neil Patel, Director of the Internationalization File, and Dr. Shiva Grizlj, Head of the Dental Departments.

The visit comes within the framework of the annual follow-up of the educational process in the Mansoura-Manchester Dental Program, and also to present the developments of the main program of Mansoura University, in preparation for taking implementation measures within two years. The activation of student exchange, renewal of the partnership contract, and maximizing cooperation to extend to postgraduate studies were also discussed.

Prof. Cherif Khater stressed the university's keenness to implement the directives of the political leadership to expand the horizons of cooperation with universities with a prestigious reputation and advanced ranking in international rankings within the framework of the higher education strategy; pointing out the university's keenness to develop its educational and scientific programs according to international standards and measures to enhance the quality and strength of the educational output, which would attract large numbers of incoming students to obtain international degrees, which would effectively contribute to increasing the university's funding sources and enhancing the university's international position.

The university president also stressed Mansoura University's keenness to enhance cooperation with the University of Manchester as a strategic partner in the medical sector over twenty years, which is in line with its strategy of internationalization with global cultures to benefit from shared experiences and expertise.

Prof. Mohamed Attia pointed to the full coordination and commitment to the plan and academic program of the University of Manchester, which contributed to the development of the Faculty of Dentistry and the provision of advanced and distinguished educational services according to international standards, stressing that the university administration appreciates this international partnership, which resulted in Mansoura University being the first to launch the first international medical education program in Egyptian universities.

Prof. Yasser Lotfy said that the Mansoura-Manchester program is the first qualitative program and a twinning with a foreign university at the level of dental faculties in Egyptian universities.

Prof. Julian Yates praised the long history of Mansoura University and its prestigious position globally and the progress of its study levels to the extent that makes it a successful model for joint cooperation, stressing the provision of all means of support and facilities to accredit the program with British accreditation institutions.

The delegation members also expressed their pride in the extended partnership with Mansoura University, stressing that it is a model to be emulated among Egyptian universities, emphasizing the quality of the academic and professional level of the program graduates.

The visit of the University of Manchester delegation extends over two days from January 12 to January 13, 2025, and includes a comprehensive program to meet with the Mansoura Program management and the managers of the various teams, discussions about the student exchange program for the year 2025, a visit to the Manchester Clinic, an open meeting with the program students, and a presentation of the various student activities.

It is also worth noting that the study in the Mansoura Manchester Dental Program began for the first time in the academic year 2017-2018, and 3 batches have graduated from the program so far.
