Mansoura University President Resumes Field Follow-up of Construction Projects in the Educational and Medical Sector

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, inspected on January 13, 2025, a number of construction projects at the university to follow up on the progress of work according to the specified timetables, and to stand on the rates of completion of construction work and follow up on it on the ground.
He was accompanied during the tour by Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Sherif Badawi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Mr. Saad Abdel Wahab, Secretary-General of the University.
The tour included the demolition and construction project of the Faculty of Law's administrative building, Section (A), the Nursing Faculty Extension Building project, the Olympic Village Service Complex Building project, and the Oncology Center Annex Building construction project.
Prof. Cherif Khater pointed out the importance of investing in developing the infrastructure of university facilities to meet the needs of the educational process, noting that the university always seeks to provide a distinguished educational environment that contributes to developing students' capabilities and skills, within the framework of implementing the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to develop educational services to keep pace with modern developments and growth rates, in a way that serves the university's goals in achieving advanced positions in international rankings and obtaining accreditation for its faculties, as well as developing the infrastructure in the medical sector to maintain its leadership as a stronghold of medicine in Egypt.
The tour began with an inspection of the construction project of the Faculty of Law's administrative building, Section (A), in the presence of Prof. Walid El-Shennawy, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Alaa El-Tamimi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Salah El-Baglati, the project's engineering director.
The building includes 6 floors on an area of 910 m2, including a conference hall, an examination hall, a meeting hall, in addition to faculty offices, administrative offices and a social hall.
Prof. Cherif Khater said that the new building was designed according to the latest global systems for similar projects and for the building, taking into account the principles of environmental sustainability. He also directed to take the necessary measures to start the necessary finishing works in conjunction with the final stages of completing the concrete structure, as well as directing to make the necessary technical measurements for equipment and furniture.
This was followed by an inspection of the new building project for the Faculty of Nursing, in the presence of Prof. Abeer Zakaria, Acting Dean of the Faculty, where work was followed up on the project, which is located on an area of 700 m2, to accommodate the number of students accepted into the faculty, and to complete the capacity. The building includes educational lecture halls, multiple halls and administrative offices.
During the tour, the university president stressed the need to adhere to the set timetable; the financial, administrative and engineering procedures related to the implementation of the concrete structure of the building were also reviewed. Then, he headed to the Olympic Village, where he inspected the project to establish and rehabilitate the service complex, in the presence of Captain Mustafa Al-Maamli, the village's executive director.
The complex consists of two ground floor buildings with an area of 590 m2 for each building, and it is planned to be used as village information outlets, and a number of service outlets including the Real Estate Registration Authority, Passports, Civil Status, and other government service outlets.
The university president stressed the need to quickly complete the finishing and engineering works necessary to deliver it and put it into service on time.
Then, at the end of the tour, the university president headed to the Oncology Center to inspect the project of the new annex building for the center, in the presence of Prof. Al-Shaarawy Kamal, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Prof. Walid Al-Nahhas, Director of the Oncology Center, Prof. Adel Fathy, Deputy Director of the Center, and Prof. Fikry Salem, Engineering Director of the project.
The building was built on an area of 700 square meters with a height of 7 floors and a ground floor, including outpatient clinics, offices, administration and residence rooms, in addition to 2 basements prepared and equipped to install 2 new radiotherapy devices to treat cancer patients, and to fill the severe deficit in radiotherapy in Dakahlia Governorate, which were described according to the requirements of quality assurance and accreditation.
Prof. Cherif Khater explained that the annex building was built within the framework of the university's future vision to provide the necessary infrastructure to provide distinguished medical services to cancer patients, in light of the continuous increases in the number of visitors to the center, as it is the largest university center specialized in oncology and surgery in the Republic. He stressed the need to raise the rates of achievement and complete all work within the specified times, in order to provide treatment services to cancer patients, stressing that the Mansoura University administration is keen to quickly complete the project to start entering the building into service, to meet the needs of cancer patients with the highest possible quality and efficiency. He has also followed up on the engineering drawings and specific timetables for implementing the project, as well as the status of engineering extracts, and the work plan for the next stage.
During the tour, Prof. Cherif Khater met in the field with various parties responsible for supervising the implementation of each project, from the university’s administrative body, the Center for Studies and Consultations at the Faculty of Engineering, and the implementing companies. The financial and engineering procedures were reviewed, ensuring that they conform to the timetables, and ensuring the rate of progress of the documentary cycle in the university’s various accounting departments and units in order to complete all projects on time.
