Faculty of Fine Arts, Mansoura University, discusses graduation projects for its students 2025

The Faculty of Fine Arts organized a discussion of graduation projects for its students in the 5th level, batch 2025, under the auspices of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University and Supervisor of the Faculty of Fine Arts, where he received Prof. Mustafa Sultan, former Dean of the Institute of Theatrical Arts and Head of the Fine Arts Sector, Prof. Mohamed Hilal, Rapporteur of the Permanent Scientific Committee for the Promotion of Professors and Assistant Professors in Fine Arts, Prof. Hassan Metwally, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design at the British University, and Prof. Sherif Shatta, former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Mansoura, Prof. Ahmed Nagi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs, Madinah University in Badr City, Prof. Howayda Abdel Fattah, Head of the Photography Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria, and Prof. Mohamed Shawky Abu Laila, Head of the Department of Architecture, Mansoura University, Prof. Asmaa El-Dessouki, Head of the Graphics Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, and a group of senior professors from the Faculties of Arts Fine Arts and Engineering at Egyptian Universities.
In the presence of Prof. Shahenda Turk, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dina Yousry Suleiman, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, heads of departments and program supervisors at the faculty.
Prof. Cherif Khater sent a welcome message to the members of the Student Projects Research Discussion Committee at Mansoura University. He also praised the advanced level and performance of 5th level students in all departments of the faculty this year, wishing them success in their academic and professional career. He has also greeted the heads of departments, program directors and faculty members at the faculty under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, pointing out the importance of graduation projects, as the faculty students exert their utmost energy to produce distinguished creative works that raise the level of the faculty and compete with other art faculties at the local and international levels.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim welcomed the committee members for their presence at the Faculty of Fine Arts, and their great efforts in discussing students' research. He added that more than 200 research papers were discussed from various departments of the faculty, and the research included all specializations in the faculty, as the Decoration Department, Interior Architecture Program, presented innovative ideas in line with modern trends in design, and focused on various topics concerned with enhancing the concept of sustainable design, implementing sustainable development goals, and providing innovative solutions that respond to the challenges of the era, taking into account the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of development.
While the research papers submitted by students of the Expressive Arts Program dealt with formative treatments of dramatic texts by analyzing and processing the idea of designing decoration and fashion using a historical era or an artistic school.
The research papers of the Mural Photography Program dealt with mural treatments of many architectural facilities and buildings within Mansoura University, faculties, centers, and units within the university, in colors and designs for different artistic schools, implemented with different materials, glass and mosaics.
The photography program presented different ideas from Egyptian folk heritage, while the Architecture Department discussed the needs of the regions to develop non-traditional tourism to advance the tourism sector in Egypt.
The Sculpture Department also presented research on the bas-relief sculpture program, and the field sculpture program, which presented design studies with hypotheses that fit sites, squares, plazas, and public parks using various materials of gypsum, metals, and clay.
The discussion also included research by the Graphics Department for the Animation and Book Arts program, and the research dealt with designing characters for novels that reflect the Egyptian identity, and designing the pages of the book's interior, covers, and promotional materials as initial stages of animated films. The printed designs program dealt with various designs related to human feelings and social relations between departure, alienation, and decision.
It is worth noting that the mission of the Faculty of Fine Arts aims to hone the talents of its students and unleash their creativity, so that they can be pioneers in the cultural, artistic, and social fields. The faculty also seeks to provide them with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter practical life, which contributes to developing and raising public taste.
The committee praised the projects submitted by the students, which included many distinguished design ideas and projects, after discussing all the presented research and discussing the technical methods and techniques used in implementation, stressing that the graduation projects are a reflection of the essence of what the 5th level students acquired throughout their study period at the university in terms of scientific and practical experiences and knowledge at the hands of specialized professors known for their experience, competence and excellence.
