Mansoura University organized a visit for its students with disabilities to the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, within the framework of the university's cultural and scientific role, to promote the rights of people with disabilities, support their integration into society, and enhance their participation in various student activities "cultural, sports, scientific, artistic” in order to develop their knowledge and develop their literary and intellectual interests.
Under the auspices of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of the University, and the leadership of Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and the supervision of Dr. Walid Tantawi, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Mohamed Sabry Saraya, Coordinator of Student Activities, Mr. Ahmed Al-Ashry, Director General of Student welfare, and in coordination with the University Student Union.
Prof. Cherif Khater pointed out the university's keenness to implement the directives of the political leadership led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who pays great attention to supporting the file of people with disabilities, as well as the plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to integrate them in society, and providing them with equal opportunities that enable them to participate effectively alongside the rest of the community, as caring for university youth and developing their capabilities is a fundamental pillar of the Egyptian state's strategy for sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030. He also stressed the university's keenness to implement a broad participation plan in the Cairo International Book Fair this year for its members, including faculty members, students and employees, as the exhibition represents an opportunity to gain knowledge and develop scientific research skills, noting that the exhibition provides an ideal platform for interaction with authors, and writers, which contributes to enriching university thought.
During their tour of the exhibition, the students visited the pavilions of the Ministries of Defense and Interior, the Administrative Control Authority and the Public Prosecution, in addition to many other pavilions of various major publishing houses and participating countries, where they learned about the latest editions of books and publications, and viewed the cultural events and various artistic performances.
The students expressed their pleasure with this visit, stressing that it is a great opportunity to discover specialized books in their fields of specialization, in addition to learning about the latest intellectual and literary trends.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that Egyptian universities and institutes will organize free visits to the Cairo International Book Fair, and provide all facilities for students and provide transportation for them, so that they can participate in the exhibition and attend the various and diverse events that are organized, in order to maximize the benefit from the exhibition to contribute to raising the level of awareness and culture among young people.
It is worth noting that the activities of the 56th session of the Cairo International Book Fair will continue until February 5, with the participation of more than 1345 publishing houses from 80 countries, and the 56th session of the exhibition is witnessing unparalleled success and a tremendous ability to attract the public from different parts due to the diversity of events and exhibits, as the exhibition offers 600 diverse events that include cultural and artistic activities, held throughout the days of the exhibition.
