Mansoura University Students Visit Alexandria Naval Base

Mansoura University organized a visit for students of the Faculty of Physical Education at the university to the Military Academy of the Egyptian Naval College in Abu Qir, Alexandria, under the auspices of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, and Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education at the university.

The Naval College received the visit of the university students under the auspices of Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa, Commander of the Egyptian Naval Forces, and in the presence of Major General Ayman Adel Al-Daly, Deputy Director of the Military Academy of the Naval College, and Brigadier General Mohamed Tamam, and in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Prof. Ashraf Othman, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Khaled Wahid, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, Assoc. Prof. Sayed Nabil, Executive Director of the Mansoura University Club, and Dr. Hatem Shady.

Prof. Cherif Khater stressed Mansoura University's keenness to implement the directives of the political leadership to enhance and develop national awareness among young university students, strengthen ties with the valiant Egyptian Armed Forces and the Navy, and conduct field visits to see the extent of development achieved by the Egyptian state, and the role of its armed forces as a safe shield for the homeland, reflecting the greatness of the Egyptian state.

Prof. Mohamed Attia also pointed out that the visit aimed to increase the awareness of college students of the role of our valiant naval forces in protecting Egypt's land, and how our naval forces were able to cross Egypt to safety amidst a wave of challenges and difficulties.

Prof. Ahmed Abdel Azim said that it is important to hold such visits to benefit from the experiences of the military institution in physical, sports and administrative aspects, and to transfer experiences to educational institutions, within the framework of the plan to achieve the strategic goals of developing the Faculty of Physical Education, Mansoura University.

The visit program began with a speech by Major General Ayman Adel El Daly, in which he sent greetings and appreciation to the President of Mansoura University. He also welcomed the university delegation, and a presentation was given about the Naval College and the facilities it provides to students enrolled in it. A documentary film was shown about the students’ experience within the college, as well as referring to the most important sports achievements of the college in many sports, especially sailing and boating, and its winning of many international and local medals.

 During the visit, a sports day was held between students of the Naval College and students of Mansoura University in a number of sports, most notably football, volleyball, bowling, and other group and individual games with the aim of exchanging various physical and sports experiences
