Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, and Major General Tarek Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, witnessed on February 8, 2025, the celebration of the 775th National Day of Dakahlia Governorate, which is being held for the first time at Mansoura University, in the presence of Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Military Affairs, Major General Alaa Abdel Moaty, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia, Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Sharkia, Eng. Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the attendees in his speech to Mansoura University, stressing that we all stand proudly and honorably in front of a long history of struggle and sacrifice, as it is a history written by the sons of this good land with their blood and will in order to preserve its pride and dignity, so that Dakahlia remains a symbol of glory, and remains a governorate of pride and challenge, as its sons have written an epic of unforgettable heroism and sacrifices. He added that Dakahlia National Day is not just an occasion for celebration, but rather a moment of reflection on the achievements made by the governorate, whether in the development, cultural, economic, or other fields, stressing that Dakahlia is a vibrant governorate, and possesses human and natural capabilities that make it a fundamental pillar in building modern Egypt. He said that the launch of the National Day from Mansoura University is evidence of the fruitful cooperation and close connection in all business files and activities, in Dakahlia Governorate, which is the heart of Egypt, pulsating with history and culture. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to Major General Tarek Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, and to the people of Dakahlia, stressing the need to continue the path of success and prosperity, as the governorate witnessed, during the era of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi - President of the Republic, the implementation of a group of development and service projects that aim to improve the quality of life for citizens and meet their basic needs in many areas. He also thanked the organizing committee from the university, headed by Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi - Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed El-Adl – Lecturer at Mansoura University and Deputy Governor of Dakahlia and members of the committee from the university and the governorate.
Major General Tarek Marzouk delivered a speech in which he welcomed Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Advisor to the President for Military Affairs, and welcomed the current and former ministers and governors, and welcomed all attendees, expressing his appreciation for the governorate's guests and his great happiness with their presence to participate in Dakahlia's celebrations of its 775th National Day, which represents the anniversary of the day of challenge, steadfastness, determination and victory.
The Governor of Dakahlia said, "Today we celebrate a memory dear to all our hearts, the anniversary of the National Day of Dakahlia Governorate, this day that embodies the value of heroism and sacrifices that generations of the sons of this good land wrote in the Battle of Mansoura, when our ancestors bravely and steadfastly confronted the European invasion forces led by Louis IX, King of France, and captured him and placed him in the Ibn Luqman House in Mansoura, on February 8, 1250." The Governor of Dakahlia congratulated the people of the governorate and its executive bodies on the occasion of the 775th National Day of Dakahlia Governorate, asking God Almighty to grant us all success to continue giving, and asked the students of Mansoura University that they are the future of this country, and you must bear responsibility, and continue the path of struggle and giving that the ancestors began, and he stressed that the executive body of the governorate are the pillars of executive work. The Governor of Dakahlia paid tribute to Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, the prestigious university that occupies a prestigious position among the world's universities, stressing that cooperation and coordination does not stop between the governorate and the university, expressing his appreciation for the university's efforts in providing various forms of support that the governorate needs, and a tribute of thanks and appreciation to every individual who is participating in building this prestigious governorate, stressing that the development process will not stop, but rather efforts will double and continue until we achieve a brighter and more prosperous future for our children from the coming generations. He stressed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, spared no effort in supporting Dakahlia Governorate, by supporting the governorate's projects, with more than 3,500 projects, to motivate its youth and contribute its various resources to the national economy For our beloved Egypt, with approximately 294 billion pounds, and in order to support the state continuously, and consolidate the economic structure, we are working on expanding the industrial zone in Gamasa, and the industrial investment zones in Matariya and Mit Ghamr to produce many diverse industries, as well as the first commercial logistics zone on the land of Dakahlia, with an area of 52 acres on the international Gamasa tributary, so that the economic structure is a strong pillar of the national economy, and to create job opportunities for the people of the governorate, and to create a balance between the agricultural, industrial and commercial community.
The Governor of Dakahlia added that, in anticipation of the insightful vision of the political leadership, and future solutions, the most important fourth-generation cities were established on the Mediterranean coast, with the inauguration of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the New Mansoura City, a different model planned with international specifications, allowing our children to live a healthy, upscale, sustainable life.
During the ceremony, a documentary video was shown documenting the ancient history of Dakahlia Governorate, and its most important landmarks and economic, industrial, agricultural and other activities.
The media figure Dr. Gamal Al-Shaer also delivered poetic words describing Dakahlia Governorate, its land and its symbols.
The artist Ahmed Fouad Selim addressed a word of appreciation and pride in the ancient Dakahlia Governorate led by Major General Tarek Marzouk, and a salute of appreciation to the ancient Mansoura University.
At the end of the celebration, the artist Nesma Mahgoub and her musical band presented an artistic concert that included many musical pieces and elegant national songs.
