Mansoura University President Receives Iraq's Future University President to Sign a Cooperation Agreement

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, received on February 19, 2025, a delegation from Iraq's Future University headed by Prof. Hassan Shaker Magdy, President of the University, within the framework of the signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol between the two parties, with the aim of supporting aspects of cooperation and scientific and research support in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences between the two parties.
In the presence of Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Manal Eid, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
From the Iraqi side, Prof. Munther Fadel Hassan, Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Muzaffar Sadiq Hassan, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Prof. Walaa Louay Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine attended.
The attendance was also attended by Prof. Khaled Bashir Salim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Marwa Hassaan, Director of the International Relations Office, and Assoc. Prof. Yosra Al-Far, Deputy Director of the International Relations Office, Dr. Al-Moatasem Billah Al-Bahrawy, General Supervisor of the International Students’ Administration, Assoc. Prof. Shaimaa Abdel-Wahab, Dr. Ahmed Salah, Deputy General Supervisors.
Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the delegation of the University of Iraq to Mansoura University, noting that Iraqis are among the most ancient peoples in the world, and their country has a great history, ancient civilization and distinguished staff. He also stressed the depth of relations and ties between the Egyptian and Iraqi peoples, and Mansoura University's keenness to develop relations with various educational institutions in the State of Iraq. He added that Mansoura University is striving to implement the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt's Vision 2030, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to expand international partnerships with institutions with a distinguished reputation globally, and to make Egypt a destination for providing educational services in the Arab region and the Middle East. The university also seeks to deepen its international role and continue to establish partnerships in various scientific fields of common interest.
The university president also stressed that signing this protocol with the Iraqi Future University aims at joint exchange between the two universities through cooperation in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, exchange of teaching programs with common specializations, development of educational programs, joint cooperation in scientific activities such as conferences, seminars and workshops, exchange of students and faculty members, training of students and facilitating the registration of postgraduate studies for Iraqi students in accordance with the regulations and laws in force in the faculty of Pharmacy, exchange of short visits between faculty members in the two faculties to achieve the goals of the protocol in accordance with the organizing rules and obtaining the approvals of the competent authorities.
During the meeting, the university president reviewed a file that includes the most prominent points of excellence at Mansoura University in its educational and medical sectors, including the university obtaining institutional accreditation as the first Egyptian university accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education in Egypt, in addition to its government excellence awards, and the bright points of excellence throughout the university.
Prof. Hassan Shaker expressed his pleasure at signing the cooperation protocol with the prestigious Mansoura University, which occupies a prominent position among Egyptian universities, explaining that the protocol aims to consolidate joint cooperation in the research and academic fields. He added that the University of the Future was established in 2010, and is located in Babil Governorate, about 100 kilometers south of Baghdad, and is accredited by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is one of the leading multidisciplinary universities in Iraq, and has gained an increasing reputation at the regional and global levels. The university has witnessed remarkable growth, as it now offers 45 undergraduate programs across 14 colleges in fields such as medicine, engineering, management, arts and humanities. In addition, the University of the Future offers two master's programs - electronics engineering and clinical anatomy.
Prof. Muhammad Attia expressed his pleasure for implementing the cooperation with the University of the Future, praising the Iraqi students and stressing the depth of the permanent and ongoing relations between the two countries.
Prof. Tarek Ghalwash said that Mansoura University has an honorable academic and research level and global ranking, which is reflected in the level of students and researchers. He stressed the university's keenness to enhance cooperation with international universities and educational institutions, to raise the scientific and research level of the university in various fields.
The meeting witnessed the screening of documentaries explaining the history of the two universities, and at the end of the signing ceremony of the cooperation protocol, shields were exchanged between the two sides, and commemorative photos were taken.
It is worth noting that the program of the visit of the delegation of the Iraqi Future University to Mansoura University included an inspection tour that included the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Medicine, the Urology and Nephrology Center, the Oncology Center, and the Cardiothoracic Surgery Center.
