Mansoura University is honored in Saudi Arabia at the 2024 Arab Universities Ranking Ceremony

Mansoura University participated in the ceremony honoring the Arab universities included in the 2024 Arab ranking, hosted by King Khalid University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University and Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research attended the ceremony, where they received the certificate of honor in appreciation of the university's achievements and its prominent role in developing higher education at the Arab level.

This was attended by Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Prof. Faleh Raja Allah Al-Salami, Director of King Khalid University, representatives of the Association of Arab Universities and Arab academic and educational institutions, a number of prominent academic figures and representatives of higher education institutions in the Arab world.

Mansoura University topped the Arab academic scene by obtaining the 3rd place locally, and the 7th in the Arab world, according to the ranking issued by the Association of Arab Universities 2024. It also ranked 2nd locally in the "Teaching and Learning" and "Scientific Research" indicators, which shows the university's focus on the quality of teaching and innovative education, while achieving distinguished performance in producing influential scientific research at the regional and international levels.

Prof. Cherif Khater expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Association of Arab Universities, and congratulated all university members on this honor, noting that it is a culmination of the efforts made to adhere to international standards in various academic and educational files, most notably scientific research and international publishing. He explained the keenness of its administration to implement the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and achieve the sustainable development goals related to Egypt's Vision 2030, and the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to raise the progress of universities on the map of Arab and international rankings, through the implementation of a package of strategic measures that include enhancing scientific research, supporting researchers, developing research infrastructure, and international cooperation. These efforts have contributed to increasing high-quality research production, and enhancing the university's leading position in the field of education and scientific research at the local, regional and international levels.

Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, said that achieving this international achievement reflects the university's firm commitment to academic and research excellence, and is an indicator of the continuous and successive development witnessed by the university, as well as its prestigious position among educational institutions in the Arab world, which is an incentive to continue development and continuous improvement.

The number of universities that applied for the Arab ranking in the 2nd edition this year reached 373 universities representing 16 countries, an increase of 165 universities over the first edition, and this year 180 universities representing 16 countries have completed the ranking requirements.

It is worth noting that the Arab ranking of universities was officially launched in 2022 from the headquarters of the League of Arab States after the combined efforts of the Association of Arab Universities in cooperation with the League of Arab States, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), and the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, which aims to improve the outcomes of higher education and scientific research to enable them to lead Arab development and bring Arab universities to the third and fourth generation of universities, and to generate in the Arab world an international classification with modern standards that keep pace with the requirements of the Arab world, side by side with other international university rankings.
