Mansoura University Participates in the Global Earth Hour Initiative in Support of the Environment

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, announced the university's participation in the global environmental event "Earth Hour," which takes place on March 22, 2025. The event will involve turning off unnecessary lights and electrical appliances in all university buildings for one hour, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. He emphasized Mansoura University's commitment to participating in strengthening national efforts to engage the world in highlighting climate change and raising awareness of its dangers, by supporting global environmental initiatives. He also highlighted the university's important role in promoting environmental awareness, participating in rationalizing energy consumption, combating global warming and climate change, and promoting the concept of sustainability both on and off campus. He called on university members to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors in their daily lives to ensure a sustainable future for future generations.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that Mansoura University affiliates were invited to participate in this global event to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preserving natural resources for future generations. He emphasized that Mansoura University attaches great importance to environmental issues and works to integrate sustainability concepts into various aspects of the educational and research process.
It is worth noting that "Earth Hour" is a global initiative launched by the World Wide Fund for Nature in 2007. Millions of people around the world participate by turning off their lights for an hour on the last Saturday of March each year, with the aim of raising awareness of climate change issues and the importance of preserving natural resources.
