Mansoura University President Attends Mother's Day Celebration and Honoring of Martyrs' Families

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, attended the Mother's Day celebration at the university on March 19, 2025, and honored ideal mothers and families of martyrs at the university. The ceremony was held in Al-Sanhouri Hall at the Faculty of Law.
The celebration was attended by Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Amina Shalaby, Secretary of the National Council for Women in Dakahlia; Prof. Walid El-Shenawy, Dean of the Faculty of Law; deans and vice deans of faculties, assistant secretaries; Colonel Mohamed Abdel-Bari, Director of the Military Education Department; ideal mothers at the university; faculty members; administrative staff; and students.
Prof. Cherif Khater appreciated the ideal mothers at Mansoura University on the occasion of Mother's Day, emphasizing that mothers are the pillar of the Egyptian family, the source of unlimited giving, and the foundation of all society. He also expressed his pleasure that this year's celebration coincides with Martyr's Day and the anniversary of the 10th of Ramadan, when Egypt fought its most honorable battles. He sent a message to the generous among our righteous martyrs, who set an example of sacrifice for the survival of this nation, the preservation of the resources of our great people. He saluted Egyptian women, emphasizing his personal pride in this event, which Mansoura University is keen to hold annually, to express respect for their noble role as partners in struggle, success, construction, and work. He pointed out that Egyptian women contribute a great deal and deserve a great deal, as they are the source of the nation's energy and strength. He also emphasized that the university is keen to celebrate Mother's Day annually and honor ideal mothers among its staff as a symbol of appreciation and recognition for their tremendous efforts in raising new generations. He praised the priority given by the Egyptian state to the women's issue, based on the belief of the political leadership, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, that stability and progress can only be achieved by ensuring the active participation of women in all aspects of national action. This can be achieved through supporting and empowering Egyptian women, making them a central focus in all aspects of the state's comprehensive development plan. This has had a significant impact on Egyptian women's access to important benefits and placing them in a position befitting their value, capabilities, and sacrifices throughout history, in adherence to the Egyptian Constitution, which has enshrined the values of justice. and equality, and in implementation of the principles of equal opportunity and the rights it guarantees to women, and in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and its strategy for sustainable development. He also emphasized that the university is working hard within this framework to achieve the principle of equality and women's empowerment, believing in the importance of their role in building and achieving the university's vision and mission.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim pointed out that International Women's Day is March 8, while Egyptian Women's Day has been set for March 21. This is a brilliant choice of timing, which falls between the International Day of Happiness and March 22, World Water Day. This year's event also has a special character, as it coincides with the commemoration of the tenth of Ramadan and Martyrs' Day, emphasizing the role of women in building society. Therefore, this honoring of ideal mothers is a symbol of celebration for all Egyptian women.
Prof. Walid El-Shenawy welcomed hosting the ceremony honoring mothers on their annual Mother's Day. Extending his warmest congratulations to Egypt's great mothers, I appreciate the historic and pioneering role played by Egyptian mothers in various fields. They are the pillars of the family and a fundamental partner in the development of society.
Prof. Amina Shalaby, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women in Dakahlia, extended her respect, reverence, and love to every mother in Egypt from the National Council for Women family. She emphasized Mansoura University's continued support for women's empowerment, emphasizing that honoring mothers is not merely a celebration of an occasion, but rather an ongoing commitment to achieving justice and equality for them. She also extended her greetings and appreciation to the team organizing the celebration.
The ceremony included speeches by Prof. Amal Al-Qaddah, the ideal mother at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, and one of the ideal mothers honored by the university, Ms. Samia Abdel Hamid, daughter of the martyr Lieutenant Colonel Abdel Hamid Saleh. A video about the martyr was also shown, along with an artistic performance by children from the university's Child Care and Development Center. The event also honored the ideal mothers at the university and the families of the martyrs.
