President of Mansoura University is a keynote speaker via videoconference at the opening session of the College of Law Conference
Mansoura University participated in both the 5th International Scientific Conference of the College of Law at Al-Muthanna University, entitled "Legal Confrontation of Violent Extremism," and the 2nd International Scientific Conference of the College of Administration and Economics at Al-Muthanna University, entitled "Artificial Intelligence and Labor Market Requirements." These conferences were held within the framework of the cooperation agreement concluded with Al-Muthanna University in Iraq, from April 14 to 19, 2025.
Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, participated as a keynote speaker in the opening session of the College of Law conference via videoconference. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt and Iraq for their efforts to advance the higher education and scientific research systems in both countries. He also commended the efforts of the President of Al-Muthanna University in activating the cooperation agreement and hosting the Mansoura University delegation. He delivered a lecture reviewing the Egyptian experience in combating terrorism, highlighting the legal frameworks adopted by the state to address this issue.
Mansoura University’s delegation participating in the scientific activities in Iraq included: Prof. Marwa Hassan, Director of the International Relations Office at Mansoura University; Prof. Mustafa Bakhit and Prof. Ahmed Zaher from the Faculty of Law; Prof. Ahmed Kamal Motawea, Professor of Auditing and Head of the Accounting and Auditing Department from the Faculty of Commerce; Prof. Samir Abu Al-Fotouh Saleh, Professor of Accounting and Information Systems; and Prof. Mohamed Galal Soliman, Professor of Business Administration.
Prof. Cherif Khater said that Mansoura University strives to implement the directives of the Egyptian political leadership aimed at making Egypt a leading center for providing educational services in the Arab world and the Middle East, and to enhance its international role by concluding partnerships in various scientific fields of common interest.
Prof. Hussein Kamel Al-Shaher, President of Al-Muthanna University, welcomed Mansoura University’s delegation, headed by Prof. Cherif Khater, saying, "One of the most important pillars of our success in this field is international academic cooperation, which is evident today in the presence of our distinguished guests from the prestigious Mansoura University. We renew our commitment to activating the academic agreement with Mansoura University, believing that academic collaboration yields deeper insights and lays the foundations for a more secure and stable future." He added, "We are honored to be joined in this academic endeavor by an elite group of professors and researchers from Mansoura University, whom we welcome with a welcome befitting their academic standing and rooted in the depths of the fraternal relations between Iraq and Egypt."
The College of Law conference featured the presentation and discussion of numerous research papers and studies addressing various aspects of the phenomenon of violent extremism, including its causes, manifestations, and effects, as well as a review of successful legal experiences and practices in combating it.
The Faculty of Management and Economics conference, titled "Creativity without Borders: Artificial Intelligence and Labor Market Requirements," highlighted the role of AI in shaping the future of business, given the interplay between technology and innovation. The conference included seminars and workshops that discussed financial inclusion experiences, Mansoura University's experience with technology incubators, the philosophy of digital empowerment, and future jobs under the dominance of knowledge-age technologies.
At the conclusion of the event, Mansoura University’s delegation was honored for its outstanding participation in the conference proceedings, including scientific sessions, panel discussions, and graduate student project discussions. It also delivered several specialized lectures that were well-attended and interactive by researchers and students.
