The Faculty of Physical Education Welcomes the German Participant in the International Master's Project for People with Disabilities in Sports Psychology

In implementation of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to prioritize people with disabilities and their full integration into society, in line with the Egyptian state's strategy "Egypt Vision 2030," and within the framework of the directives of ؛Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Ministry's plan in this regard, and under the auspices of Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and the leadership of Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ahmed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, received the German team participating in the International Master's Project for People with Disabilities in Sports Psychology.

The participants included Prof. Oliver Stoll, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Martin Luther University, and Prof. Rainer Schillermann, Professor of Social and Health Sciences at the University of Regensburg. The meeting was attended by the Faculty's Vice Deans, Department Heads, Prof. Amr Saad, Professor of Sports Psychology at the Faculty and Project Supervisor, and a number of faculty members.

This visit followed the announcement of Mansoura University's winning the first international project of its kind in the Middle East and Germany to establish a specialized master's program in sports psychology for people with disabilities. The program, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), is expected to be implemented from 2025 to 2028 in partnership with the German Martin Luther University and Regensburg University.

Prof. Cherif Khater said that this project is a historic achievement, as it represents the first accredited master's degree in sports psychology for people with disabilities to be awarded in cooperation with the Martin Luther University and Regensburg University. He emphasized that this reflects Mansoura University's leadership and academic and research excellence in serving pivotal societal issues. He added that the university is keen to implement the directives of the political leadership to empower people with disabilities and provide specialized academic programs that keep pace with global developments and contribute to building a more inclusive and just society.

Prof. Tarek Ghalwash emphasized the importance of the international dimension of this project, noting that it reflects the confidence of international research institutions in the capabilities of Mansoura University and enhances opportunities for developing scientific research related to humanitarian and social needs.

Prof. Ahmed Abdel Azim Abdullah expressed his great pleasure with this achievement, emphasizing that the college is making steady progress toward offering innovative educational programs and strengthening international partnerships in the field of physical education. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to Prof. Cherif Khater, President of the University, Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and all faculty members, researchers, and students participating in the project. He praised the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for this constructive academic cooperation.

During the visit, the Dean of the Faculty reviewed the faculty’s programs, its strategic plan, and its implementation mechanisms, expressing his optimism that this project would be a launching pad for further progress and cooperation in serving all segments of society. He then presented the faculty’s shield of pride and appreciation to the German guests, project members, and the project supervisor from the faculty.

With this achievement, the Faculty of Physical Education at Mansoura University continues its academic and applied leadership, affirming its commitment to the university's mission of supporting community issues and advancing scientific research and higher education in light of the Egyptian state's vision.
