Mansoura University President Visits University of Baghdad to Enhance Academic Cooperation and Exchange of Expertise

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, paid an official visit to the University of Baghdad. He was received by Prof. Bahaa Ibrahim Insaf, President of the University of Baghdad, in the presence of Prof. Ali Hadi Attia Al-Hilali, Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Ali Hussein Ali, Dean of the College of Excellence, and a number of academic leaders at the Iraqi University.

During the meeting, several topics of mutual interest were discussed, most notably strengthening academic cooperation, expanding scientific twinning programs, and exchanging expertise between the two sides. They also discussed supporting cooperation in the fields of scientific research, graduate studies, and student exchange, which would contribute to the development of the higher education system in the two sister countries.

Prof. Cherif Khater said that this visit comes within the framework of implementing the directives of the political leadership and the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which focuses on enhancing the role of Egyptian universities in achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030. This is achieved through expanding regional and international partnerships and activating academic and research exchange programs with Arab and international universities, thus strengthening Egypt's position as a leading regional center for education and scientific research. He also emphasized Mansoura University's commitment to strengthening its relations with prestigious Arab universities, noting that academic and cultural cooperation between the two brotherly countries represents a solid foundation for developing educational and research partnerships and supporting joint efforts to serve development issues. He praised the pioneering role of the University of Baghdad, its long-standing academic history, and its efforts in advancing education and scientific research in the region. He emphasized Mansoura University's aspiration to transfer its distinguished educational and research expertise to its Arab neighbors and enhance cooperation with academic institutions, contributing to improving the quality of education and achieving sustainable development goals. He added that this visit embodies Mansoura University's vision of internationalizing higher education and opening up to successful regional experiences, enhancing its prestigious position in international rankings and serving sustainable development goals.

Prof. Bahaa Ibrahim Insaf welcomed the visit of the President of Mansoura University, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination between the two universities in academic and research fields, which contributes to supporting the progress of higher education in both countries and enhancing the presence of Arab universities in international scientific forums.

The visit witnessed the exchange of commemorative shields between the two sides, indicating the depth of scientific and cultural relations and the continued cooperation between the two universities in academic programs and future research projects.

This visit came on the sidelines of Mansoura University's participation in the Iraq Education 2025 Conference, held at the University of Baghdad from October 11 to 13, affirming its pioneering role in promoting Arab and international cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research.
