Mansoura University Participates in Shaping the Future of Higher Education at the QS Higher Education Summit in South Korea

As part of Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University's commitment to enhancing the university's international presence and engaging with leading educational and research experiences globally, Mansoura University participated in the QS Higher Education Summit: Asia Pacific, one of the most prominent academic events in the Asia-Pacific region in the field of higher education and international university rankings.

The summit was held from November 4 to 6, 2025, in Seoul, South Korea, under the theme: "Empowering Generations through Skills and Partnerships in Asia Pacific."

The university was represented at the summit by Prof. Azza Osman, former Dean of the Faculty of Science and Advisor to the University President for International Relations, and Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Gar El-Alam, Director of the International Relations Office.

The summit witnessed active participation from several Egyptian universities, in line with the directives of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which emphasize the importance of strengthening the international presence of Egyptian universities and embracing leading global experiences in education, scientific research, and innovation. This contributes to bolstering Egypt's academic standing on the international stage.

This participation comes within the framework of Mansoura University's internationalization plan and its ongoing efforts to solidify academic and research collaborations with international universities and institutions, and to enhance its position in global rankings through the exchange of expertise and the adoption of best practices in education, scientific research, and innovation.

Prof. Cherif Khater said that Mansoura University's participation in the QS Asia Pacific Summit represents a strategic step towards consolidating the university's regional and international standing and expanding its network of academic and research partnerships. He noted that the university places particular importance on building bridges of sustainable cooperation with leading universities in Asia and the Pacific, supporting its vision of becoming a leading international smart university, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. He also affirmed that Mansoura University is a model of a prestigious Egyptian university open to the world, investing its international partnerships in supporting the education and scientific research system and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian universities on the global stage.

The summit featured panel discussions and workshops addressing pivotal topics related to international university rankings, digital transformation in education, innovation in teaching methods, the role of universities in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and strengthening international cooperation in scientific research.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Indian Ambassador to South Korea visited Mansoura University's pavilion, where he expressed his admiration for the university's showcased academic and research achievements and innovative projects, reflecting the development of the education and scientific research system in Egypt.

The university's pavilion also witnessed a large turnout from representatives of participating universities and academic institutions, receiving numerous visitors from various countries, including higher education officials, representatives of research bodies, and international ranking experts, all of whom expressed interest in the university's innovative academic programs and distinguished research projects.

These visits provided fruitful opportunities to showcase the university's efforts in education, scientific research, and digital transformation, and to explore prospects for academic collaboration and student exchange with international institutions participating in the summit.

Prof. Azza Osman expressed her pride in representing Mansoura University at this prestigious international event, emphasizing that participation in the QS Summit is an important platform for highlighting the university's achievements and strengthening academic and research cooperation with leading universities in Asia and the Pacific. She noted that the large turnout at Mansoura University's pavilion reflects the growing scientific standing the university is achieving internationally.

Dr. Mohamed Gar El-Alam said that Mansoura University's participation comes within the framework of a clear strategy to enhance international engagement and build new research and educational partnerships. He pointed out that the meetings held during the summit resulted in fruitful discussions with a number of universities and educational institutions, aimed at exchanging expertise and developing joint academic programs in line with future requirements.
