Mansoura University launches the comprehensive development convoy "Bridges of Goodness 23" to Halaib, Shalateen, and Abu Ramad
Mansoura University launched its comprehensive development convoy "Bridges of Goodness 23," heading to the cities of Halaib, Shalateen, and Abu Ramad in the Red Sea Governorate. The convoy was launched under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater, President of the University, and under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. This initiative reflects the university's national role in supporting border regions and bolstering the state's efforts to achieve sustainable development throughout the country.
The convoy includes 48 participants from the faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Community Awareness, Development, and Sports, representing the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, Early Childhood Education, Sport Sciences, and Specific Education, in addition to administrative, media, and social solidarity support teams.
Prof. Cherif Khater siad that the launch of the "Bridges of Goodness 23" convoy comes in implementation of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to enhance support and services provided to border regions. He noted that the university prioritizes community service, working through these convoys to promote the concept of integrated development and expand access to services for citizens in remote areas. He added that these initiatives are consistent with the state's sustainable development strategy, "Egypt Vision 2030," and with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's strategy aimed at maximizing the role of universities in serving the community, linking education and scientific research to the actual needs of the country, and transforming universities into effective institutions in supporting national development. He also emphasized the university's commitment to strengthening its community role through these convoys, focusing on integrating education and scientific research with citizens' needs to ensure the delivery of quality services to all remote areas and to support national development sustainably.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim said that the convoy represents a comprehensive model of the efforts of the Community Service and Environmental Development sector at Mansoura University. He emphasized that these comprehensive convoys are one of the university's key tools for strengthening community partnerships and providing high-quality services that contribute to improving the quality of life for citizens, especially in areas that require direct and sustainable support. He noted that upon arrival, the convoy would immediately begin holding coordination meetings with executive authorities in Shalateen, in preparation for providing services according to the established schedule. This schedule covers the cities of Shalateen, Halaib, and Abu Ramad over a period of five full days.
The convoy departed from the university administration building in the early hours of Saturday, November 15, 2025, and was scheduled to arrive in Shalateen that evening. Its work program, which runs until November 19, includes providing comprehensive health, veterinary, awareness, and development services in cooperation with executive authorities in the Red Sea Governorate.
This was preceded by the movement of trucks carrying nearly 20 tons of essential goods, supported by the Dakahlia Directorate of Social Solidarity, along with medicines and medical supplies provided by the university to offer comprehensive services to the residents of Halaib, Shalateen, and Abu Ramad.
The convoy's operations are being managed under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Ghada El-Qunishi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development and head of the medical team; Prof. Metwally Abu-Sari', the convoy's administrative director; Prof. Fatima El-Emam Hafez, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Community Service; Prof. Samah Ramadan Khamis, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education for Community Service; Dr. El-Sayed Nabil El-Essawy, Director of the Mansoura University Club; and Dr. Hossam Helaly, coordinator of integrated convoys and head of the administrative team, in addition to a select group of senior faculty members from the participating faculties, as well as teaching assistants and administrative staff.
The launch of "Bridges of Goodness 23" comes as an extension of the comprehensive convoy series organized by Mansoura University in various governorates, which has established its position as one of the leading universities in supporting the community and serving citizens in the neediest areas.
