Mansoura University concludes the summer training program for students from Al-Ain University in Iraq and affirms the continuation of the academic partnership between the two institutions

Mansoura University concluded the activities of the joint international summer training program for a delegation from Al-Ain University in Iraq, which it hosted from July 18 to 24, 2026. The program was held under the patronage of Prof. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs. This initiative falls within the framework of the academic cooperation agreement signed between the two universities, which aims to enhance scientific cooperation and the exchange of academic and practical expertise.

 The closing session was attended by the following Iraqi representatives: Prof. Adnan Taan Thamer, Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Ain University in Iraq; Prof. Raed Fanoukh Abu Khader, Assistant Dean of the College of Medicine for Scientific Affairs; Dr. Abdel Rahman Al-Batat, Director of the International Training Program; Dr. Hesham Abdullah Aliwa, Head of the Department of Pharmacology at the College of Medicine; Dr. Karima Abu Al-Fotouh, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy; and the students participating in the program. Also present from Mansoura University were: Prof. Yasser Lotfy, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; Prof. Khaled Bashir, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Walid Tantawy, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mohamed El-Fahhar, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Rabab Salama, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Mr. Ahmed El-Ashry, Director General of Student Welfare.

 The closing session began with a speech by Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumy, who conveyed the greetings of Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, to the delegation from Al-Ain University in Iraq. He emphasized that the program reflects Mansoura University's commitment to expanding its cooperation with Arab universities, particularly Iraqi universities, to achieve greater exchange of academic expertise and provide outstanding training opportunities for students.

 He added that this cooperation is based on the close relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Iraq, two brotherly countries, and underscores the two universities' commitment to continuing academic cooperation and the exchange of expertise. Prof. Yasser Lotfy explained that the Faculty of Dentistry's hosting of the delegation allowed students to familiarize themselves with the faculty's educational facilities and specialized clinics, thus strengthening academic cooperation between the two universities.

 Prof. Khaled Bashir emphasized that the program provided students from Al Ain University in Iraq with practical training in the laboratories of the Faculty of Pharmacy, enabling them to develop their applied skills and expand the scope of scientific collaboration between the two universities.

 Dr. Walid Tantawy reviewed the program's key components, noting that it combined practical training within the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy with visits to university hospitals and research centers, alongside a cultural and recreational program that introduced the delegation to the university's facilities and history.

 From the Iraqi side, Dr. Adnan Taan Thamer expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Mansoura University for the warm welcome and excellent organization. He praised the program's high academic standards and the enriching training opportunities it provided for Al Ain University students, affirming that the cooperation between the two universities reflects the success of their academic partnership and contributes to expanding the exchange of expertise and benefiting from distinguished experiences, within the framework of the distinguished relations that unite Egypt and Iraq. Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Ala also praised the excellent organization of the program and its rich scientific and practical content, which contributed to enriching the students' experiences. He emphasized that this experience would be a significant addition to their academic and professional expertise.

 Several students from Al-Ain University in Iraq expressed their delight at participating in the program, affirming that the practical training and field visits provided them with an exceptional opportunity to acquire new knowledge and experience, and to learn firsthand about the educational, research, and medical capabilities of Mansoura University. They also noted the opportunity to build academic and personal relationships with their Egyptian peers.

 During the week, the Iraqi delegation participated in an intensive training program within the faculties of medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. This included training in teaching laboratories, specialized clinics, research centers, and university hospitals, alongside a cultural and recreational program that featured tours of the university campus, the Olympic Village, and the permanent camp in Gamasa. This allowed the participants to become acquainted with the scientific, research, and medical capabilities of Mansoura University and contributed to achieving the program's objectives on both academic and cultural levels.

 The session concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to the delegation members and students in recognition of their commitment and active participation in the program. Commemorative photos were also taken, confirming the program's success in achieving its training goals and the continuation of academic cooperation between Mansoura University and Al Ain University in Iraq, within the framework of their cooperation agreement.
