Launch of the Second Cohort of the Mansoura University Faculty of Law Master’s Program at Al-Mustaqbal University in Iraq

Mansoura University President: Offering our academic programs outside Egypt represents a new model for the internationalization of education.

Classes for the second cohort of the Master’s degree program began today, Saturday, September 26, 2026. Hosted by the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University in Iraq and delivered by the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University, the program covers the specializations of Administrative Law and Public International Law, coinciding with the start of the 2026–2027 academic year.

The launch ceremony was attended by Mr. Ali Turki, Governor of Babylon; Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University; Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, Assistant University President for Scientific Affairs; Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law; and Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, alongside various faculty members and postgraduate students.

In a press statement, prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, emphasized that the launch of the program's second cohort underscores the ongoing academic cooperation between Mansoura University and Al-Mustaqbal University. He noted that this initiative reflects Mansoura University's commitment to expanding access to its academic programs for students across the Arab world, aligning with the university's strategic direction to foster international cooperation and the internationalization of education, all while maintaining high standards of educational quality and academic excellence.

He further explained that offering postgraduate programs outside Egypt opens new avenues for collaboration with Arab educational institutions and enables the transfer of academic expertise to students in their home countries, thereby supporting the exchange of knowledge and fostering mutual benefit among the universities.

Prof. Tarek Mostafa Ghalwash, Vice President of Mansoura University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, emphasized that the continuation of the master's program for a second year reflects the success of Mansoura University’s initiative to make postgraduate programs accessible to students outside Egypt. He highlighted the university's commitment to providing specialized academic education that upholds rigorous scientific standards while leveraging the expertise of the Faculty of Law’s academic staff.

During the program's launch ceremony, Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at Al-Mustaqbal University, conveyed the university president's greetings and congratulations to the students on the start of the second cohort. He underscored the university's dedication to postgraduate studies and scientific research, as well as its commitment to maintaining academic cooperation with Mansoura University.

Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University, emphasized the program's importance in supporting postgraduate studies and scientific research. He noted the significant academic value that the collaboration with Mansoura University brings to students and highlighted the opportunity the program provides to benefit from specialized academic expertise.

The launch of the program's second cohort represents a continuation of the academic partnership between Mansoura University and Al-Mustaqbal University, extending access to the postgraduate programs offered by Mansoura University’s Faculty of Law to students in Iraq.
