Mansoura University Participates in the University Youth Week Carnival with a Scale Model of New Mansoura City

Today, Friday, Mansoura University—led by University President Prof. Cherif Khater—participated in the carnival of the 14th University Youth Week and Higher Institutes Forum. Hosted by Minia University from September 25 to 30, 2026, under the slogan "From the Heart of Upper Egypt... We Create," the event is held under the patronage of Prime Minister Prof. Mostafa Madbouly; Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Abdel-Aziz Konsowa; and Minia University President Prof. Essam El-Din Sadek Farahat, with the participation of delegations from Egyptian universities and higher institutes.

During the carnival, Mansoura University presented a float featuring a scale model of New Mansoura City. The model was designed to reflect the city's architectural character and key features, highlighting its ongoing development through a vision that combines precision in execution with artistic flair.

Prof. Cherif Khater emphasized that the choice of New Mansoura City for the carnival participation stems from its status as a model of urban expansion and modern development. He explained that it is one of the "fourth-generation cities" being developed by the Egyptian state; President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi laid its foundation stone and inaugurated the city in December 2022.

He added that the students' presentation of the city via a scale model during the University Youth Week carnival demonstrates their ability to channel their talents and ideas into innovative projects. He reaffirmed the university's commitment to supporting students and providing opportunities for them to participate in events that foster the development of their skills and experience. The float was constructed using a variety of materials—including white wood, iron, Fevotec composites, and stone substitutes—and incorporated design elements inspired by the city of New Mansoura, featuring aesthetic details that reflect its architectural character and ongoing development projects.

The carnival featured diverse performances by participating university and higher institute delegations, alongside scale models representing various universities, governorates, and development projects. The procession toured the streets of Minya City, marking the official launch of the 14th Universities and Higher Institutes Youth Week.

Mansoura University’s participation is overseen by Dr. Walid El-Tantawy, Assistant University Secretary for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Sabry Saraya, the University’s Student Activities Coordinator, while the university delegation is led by Mr. Ahmed El-Ashry Hilal, Director General of Student Welfare.

The float was designed and executed by a team comprising Mr. Ahmed El-Ashry Hilal, Dr. Dalia Khalifa, Dr. Fatma El-Helbawy, Dr. Magdy Khaled, Mr. Mohamed Halim, Engineer Mohamed Farag, and Engineer Mohamed Talaat.

Activities for the 14th Universities and Higher Institutes Youth Week continue until September 30, encompassing a wide range of competitions and events across sports, arts, culture, science, social engagement, and scouting.
