Mansoura University President Participates in a Delegation Headed by the Minister of Higher Education to follow up on Study in the Second Semester at Samanoud Technological University

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, participated on February 9, 2025, with a delegation headed by Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to ensure regularity of study in the second semester at Samanoud Technological University in Gharbia Governorate, in the presence of Prof. Montaser Dowidar, President of Samanoud Technological University, Prof. Abdel Razek Desouky, President of Kafr El-Sheikh University, Prof. Hamdan Rabie, President of Damietta University, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, Dr. Mahmoud Issa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia, Prof. Ahmed El-Geoushy, Secretary of the Council of Technological Universities, and a group of leaders from the Ministry and the University and members of the Parliament.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ayman Ashour began his tour by inspecting a number of lecture halls and classrooms, and reassured the presence of faculty members at the university; to ensure the regularity of the educational process.

The Minister held a dialogue with a number of students, and reassured them of their readiness to complete their studies in the second semester of the current academic year.

Prof. Ayman Ashour inspected the laboratories building and workshops. The building includes the basic business workshop, which contains 6 machines, 5 spinning and weaving machines, and 30 machines in the ready-made clothing workshop. The building also contains a physics lab and 3 computer labs, each lab contains 25 devices. The building also includes a food industries lab, which contains 18 food manufacturing devices.

The Minister also inspected the university exhibition, which contains a number of machines as models for applied projects. The Minister praised the products implemented by the students, which are the result of practical and applied training.

In his speech, Prof. Ayman Ashour pointed out the importance of technological universities as they work to provide students with scientific and practical skills to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market, through technological programs that contribute to developing the industrial sector in the surrounding geographical areas, in a way that serves the goals of sustainable development by graduating technological staff qualified scientifically and practically for the labor market, according to the requirements of national projects, the geographical scope of universities, and the vision of sustainable development, Egypt Vision 2030. He added that the first phase of establishing technological universities witnessed the establishment of 3 technological universities, namely: (New Cairo Technological University - Delta Technological University - Beni Suef Technological University), and after that 7 technological universities were established, namely (Samanoud Technological University - Teiba Technological University - Borg El Arab Technological University - New Assiut Technological University - East Port Said Technological University - 6th of October Technological University - Misr International Technological University), noting that we now have 12 technological universities.

Prof. Ayman Ashour said that the new technological universities are interested in exchanging experiences with prestigious international universities, concluding cooperation protocols with various parties, and providing opportunities for industrialists, companies, supporting and financing bodies and institutions to adopt university students' innovations, put them into practical implementation, and benefit from energies, creative minds, and wonderful ideas. He added that studying at technological universities depends on integrating applied and theoretical study, and study hours at technological universities are divided into 40% theoretical in halls, and 60% practical in laboratories at universities or in the industrial zone near the university or the industrial complex affiliated with the Ministry of Industry.

Prof. Cherif Khater expressed his pleasure to participate in the inspection tour of Samanoud Technological University, pointing out his firm belief in the importance of technological education in developing the Egyptian economy, as technological universities play a vital role in preparing qualified graduates capable of meeting the requirements of the labor market. He also stressed Mansoura University's keenness to cooperate with all technological universities in Egypt, and exchange experiences and knowledge with them, in order to develop the technological education system in Egypt, and raise the level of graduates, extending his greetings and appreciation to the efforts of the Minister of Higher Education, for his great support for the technological education system, and to all those in charge of Samanoud Technological University, headed by Prof. Montaser Dowidar, for their sincere efforts in serving their students and their community, as he found commitment of those in charge of the university, and their keenness to provide a stimulating educational environment for students, and provide them with the skills and knowledge necessary to keep pace with the changing requirements of the labor market.
